Procedure for Requesting Adjournment before ITAT:


Appointment of Authorized Representative:

Mention the subject, including the case reference, such as the appeal number and the assessment year. Clearly state the reason for the adjournment. For example, in this case, the newly appointed representative needs more time to prepare for the case.

 

Addressing the Letter:

The letter should be formally addressed to “The Honourable Members, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Bench ‘XX’,” mentioning the specific city and bench handling the case.

 

Request for New Date:

Request a new hearing date at the convenience of the Honourable Tribunal. While doing so, maintain a polite and respectful tone.

 

Signature and Representation:

End the letter with the name and signature of the authorized representative, including their credentials. A copy of the letter should also be forwarded to the Departmental Representative.
